University of Puerto Rico
Founded in 1982 by its current conductor, Professor Carmen Acevedo-Lucío, Coralia –the Concert Choir of the University of Puerto Rico– is undoubtedly a prestigious group that is part of the great choral tradition of the Río Piedras Campus, which dates back to 1936 and is composed of students and alumni of the UPR who have a solid and proven musical experience.
It was conceived as a choral workshop to maximize the musical talent of its members and with the purpose of preparing choral pieces that demand a high level of execution. Its repertoire covers all musical historical periods, in addition to folkloric, Latin American and Puerto Rican works.
